There was once a wizard who loved catching animals by laying traps. He dug many holes around the jungle in hopes of stupid animals falling in every other day.

Then there was an duckling who was abandoned by its mother (Ugly duckling) and was upset and wandered around the jungle. It obviously fell into the trap laid by the wizard.

In the dark and muddy trap, there were many other animals, the gentle deer, the strong rhinosaurous, the cute rabbit and so on. The wizard would collect his trophies every week and cage them up in his dungeon. He would allow the trapped animals a day of freedom a week in exchange for a lifetime of slavery.

Being young and, relatively stupid, the duckling assumed the hunter was a kind man as he allowed them freedom.

Out of the wizard's clutches, some the animals ran in hopes of saving their dear lives while the rest just laid by the riverside enjoying their lazy afternoon. Afterall, it's the great wizard, what's the point of running. The duckling walked around, thinking if it should run or stay put. Sometimes, it ran, sometimes it stayed. Everytime the wizard would use his spells to magically return the animals back to their cages by midnight.

Seemed like a wasted effort for those to ran huh. The duck slowly gave up running and frolicked in the river.

The ugly duckling grew up, not into a swan, but into a ugly duck.

Other than the wizard who occassionally talked to the duck, the duck became friends with a beautiful swan. It slowly fell in love with the swan.

The swan would run each time it was allowed freedom. The duck talked to the swan, telling it was pointlesss to run because the result was always the same - being caged again.

Finally, the swan gave in to the duck, decided not to run, and even fell in love with it. The duck thought, they would live happily after.

When the swan wanted to run, the duck ran with it, although the duck felt it was stupid to run. When the swan was upset, the duck used its wing to protect its love. The typical fairytale love story.

However, the duck felt ugly, and it was afraid that the swan would soon regret. The day of freedom allowed the swan to meet other swans, other beautiful swans. The duck would not stay by the swan's side as it was afraid of the other beautiful swans' mocking. The duck felt upset, and talked to the swan, but the swan brushed it off each time and sometimes even upsetting the swan.

We can't really control what we think can we. Why is the duck feeling this way? Afterall, an ugly duckling will always be an ugly duckling, inside and out.

** Story will end abruptly here for you kids to imagine your own beautiful or cruel endings.

Question:
So was the wizard a good person for bring the 2 love birds (literally) together, or is he just, a cruel wizard who wants slaves?
