The Memory Keeper's Daughter
She comforted, Don't worry, you're not alone.
Another replied, I was never alone, I just feel alone.
Slience singing like the wind in the pines
Patterns playing on the polished wood floors
Soft steady ticking of the old grandfather clock
Voices swirling like snow in the wind
Tears welling up beneath closed eyelids
A heartbreaking novel awaiting to be printed
Rich with detail and nuances of human connection
Rain fell sloftly, stirring seeds in the wet dark earth
Darkness full around her as the night
Here, she told herself. I am right here.
